Ngày 15 tháng 1 năm 2007, Uỷ ban Nhân quyền Việt Nam gồm có các ông Nguyễn Phương Anh, Phạm Văn Trội, Bạch Ngọc Dương, Nguyễn Công Lý, Bùi Minh Thanh, ngoài ra ban điều hành đã mời luật sư Nguyễn Văn Đài và luật sư Lê Thị Công Nhân tham dự với tư cách cố vấn pháp lý. Các thành viên đã nhóm họp và thảo luận về tình hình sức khoẻ của nhà bất đồng chính kiến nổi tiếng Nguyễn Vũ Bình.

Ông Nguyễn Vũ Bình năm nay 39 tuổi, đã bị chính quyền cộng sản Việt Nam bỏ tù từ cuối năm 2002 vì ông đã cổ vũ cho phong trào đấu tranh dân chủ bằng hình thức bất bạo động, xây dựng chế độ dân chủ đa đảng ở Việt Nam, ông Bình đã từng nộp đơn xin thành lập đảng Dân chủ Tự do, và ông cũng đã gửi bản điều trần về tình hình nhân quyền Việt Nam cho quốc hội Hoa Kỳ.

Ông Nguyễn Vũ Bình hiện nay đang bị giam giữ trong điều kiện hết sức tồi tệ, ông bị ốm đau nhưng không được khám bệnh và điều trị thuốc men thích hợp. Nên bệnh tình của ông hết sức trầm trọng, huyết áp tăng cao, ông có thể bị đột quị bất cứ lúc nào, tính mạng của ông Nguyễn Vũ Bình bị đe dọa nghiêm trọng.

Các thành viên của Ủy ban Nhân quyền Việt Nam đã cùng nhau thống nhất ra tuyên bố lên án chính quyền cộng sản đã giam giữ tù nhân chính trị trong điều kiện hết sức tồi tệ và yêu cầu chính quyền cộng sản Việt Nam phải trả tự do ngay lập tức và không điều kiện cho ông Nguyễn Vũ Bình. Đồng thời kêu gọi chính phủ các nước, các tổ chức bảo vệ nhân quyền quốc tế ủng hộ mạnh mẽ bản tuyên bố này.

Hanoi, January 16, 2007

On January 15, 2007, The Committee for Human Rights in Vietnam -- which comprised of Messieurs Nguyen Phuong Anh, Pham van Troi, Bach Ngoc Duong, Nguyen Cong Ly, Bui Minh Thanh, together with the presence and legal consultation of attorney Nguyen van Dai, Le Thi Cong Nhan -- has met to discuss the health condition of cyber dissident cum prisoner Nguyen Vu Binh.

Thirty-eight year-old journalist Nguyen Vu Binh has been imprisoned by the Vietnamese government since 2002, due to his support and advocacy for a non-violent democracy and pluralism movement in Vietnam. Mr. Binh has petitioned the government for the establishment of a Free and Democratic Party; and at the behest of the United States Congress, has submitted to same a testimony regarding the human rights situation in Vietnam at great risk to his personal well being.

Mr. Nguyen Vu Binh is now in dire and deplorable condition in his incarceration, exacerbated by his health condition. Yet the Vietnamese authority has refused to give him proper medical care. Because of his dangerously high blood pressure, Mr. Nguyen Vu Binh might at any time face a heart attack or a stroke, which would put his life in great jeopardy.

We, the members of The Committee for Human Rights in Vietnam, have unanimously put out this statement condemning the Vietnamese Communist government for imprisoning a political prisoner and placing him under such inhumane condition, and thereby request the Vietnamese government to immediately and unconditionally free Mr. Nguyen Vu Binh. Concurrently we are calling on all governments and human rights organizations to strongly support this statement.

COMMUNIQUE DE PRESSE

Le 15 janvier 2007, le Comité Pour Les Droits De L'Homme Au Vietnam composé de ses membres M.M. Nguyen Phuong Anh, Pham Van Troi, Bach Ngoc Duong, Nguyen Công Ly, Bui Minh Thanh, auxquels s’est joint Me Nguyen Van Dai, Le Thi Cong Nhan en qualité de conseiller juridique du Comité, se sont réunis et ont discuté de l’état de santé du dissident connu M. Nguyen Vu Binh.

M. Nguyen Vu Binh, âgé de 38 ans, avait été mis en prison par le pouvoir communiste vietnamien depuis fin 2002 pour avoir milité en faveur du mouvement de lutte pacifique pour la démocratie, et pour la création d’un régime démocratique pluraliste au Vietnam ; M. Binh avait déposé une demande de création du parti « Démocratie Et Liberté », il avait aussi envoyé au Congrès des Etats-Unis un rapport sur la situation des droits de l'homme au Vietnam.

M. Binh est à l’heure actuelle détenu dans des conditions extrêmement lamentables, il est malade mais ne bénéficie d’aucun examen ni d’aucun traitement. Résultat : son état de maladie est très grave, sa tension artérielle atteint un chiffre alarmant, il peut succomber à tout moment, sa vie est donc sérieusement menacée.

Les membres du Comité Pour Les Droits De L'Homme Au Vietnam ont décidé à l’unanimité de publier une résolution condamnant le pouvoir communiste d’avoir détenu un prisonnier politique dans les conditions les plus indignes, et exigeant de ce même pouvoir qu’il libère sans délai et sans condition M. Nguyen Vu Binh. Ils ont aussi lancé un appel aux gouvernements de tous les pays, aux organisations internationales pour les droits de l'homme pour qu’ils soutiennent la Résolution concernée.
